Barbara Y. Roth

I am a PhD Candidate at the Ohio State University studying Comparative Politics and International Relations. I am currently also a Guest Researcher at the Institute of Research and Dialogue for Peace in Kigali, Rwanda and a Gallup Research Advisor.

My research interests include the spatial dynamics of intrastate war, civilian decision-making processes, and the political economy of conflict. My geographic focus is on Southeastern Europe and the Great
Lakes Area of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Before joining the graduate program at Ohio State, I obtained an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Utah and a B.A. in Media Studies and Political Science from the Free University of Berlin, Germany.

I will be in Bosnia and Herzegovina completing field research from Spring 2019-Spring 2020 with the support of a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship.
